Standard PLA and PLA+ (enhanced PLA) both have a place in 3D printing. Here’s when to choose each.

Standard PLA

Standard PLA is easy to print, has low warping, and is great for visual prototypes, display models, and educational use. It is available in many colors and is ideal when you need good surface finish and minimal hassle.

PLA+ (Enhanced)

PLA+ is modified for higher impact strength and better heat resistance (often up to around 65°C). Use it when you need functional parts that will endure light mechanical stress or warmer environments—e.g. enclosures, tool handles, or jigs.

Summary

Choose standard PLA for aesthetics and ease of printing; choose PLA+ when you need stronger, more durable parts. Both are eco-friendly and compatible with most FDM printers.
